Linda Harper-Brown Files for Re-Election
On the first day of filing and as the first Republican to file in Dallas County, Linda Harper Brown officially entered the race for Re-election to the Texas House races in 2011, showing her enthusiasm to continue to represent the citizens of Texas in her newly designed district including Irving and Grand Prairie.
Harper Brown comments: As your Representative, I have worked tirelessly to pass legislation that helps our families, schools, small businesses and taxpayers. I have stood firm to keep our taxes low when so many others have called to raise them.
Protecting taxpayers is job one. These are tough times and we need our Representatives in Austin to be even tougher. I fought, when politicians proposed a state income tax that would encumber our hard working Texas families. I stood my ground on behalf of taxpayers, when those same politicians tried to expand our state government and raise taxes. I said “no” to taxes and unnecessary spending.
Small businesses are the heart of a thriving economy. I was proud to reduce the punitive Margins Tax for Texas’ small businesses - freeing up billions of dollars that can be used to hire new employees and spur badly needed economic growth.
Texans For Fiscal Responsibility, our state’s leading tax watchdog group lauded my fiscal efforts, naming me a “Taxpayer Champion” and “Top 25 Fiscal Conservative.”
As a small business owner, wife, mother and grandmother, I understand the everyday struggles so many families and businesses face. It is a great privilege to serve you and I look forward to continuing to represent you in the Texas House representing Irving and Grand Prairie.
